DESCRIPTION

Peach and raspberry up front, white grape and muscat sweetness through the middle, jasmine throughout. This is the lot that put Karamo on the specialty map.

It comes from Karamo Kebele itself, the village that gave the whole producer network its name, and the lot most directly tied to Nigusse Gemeda's 2020 Cup of Excellence recognition. At 2,320 to 2,380 metres, among the highest elevations in the network, cherry matures slowly enough to build the sugar density that everything in this cup depends on. Natural processed over 16 to 22 days, Ethiopian Heirloom 74158 varietal. There's a wine-adjacent quality here that's hard to find at this level of clarity.

One of the most expressive coffees in our current programme. Best as filter, and worth drinking slowly.
