Dried currants, bergamot, and blackberry. A natural-processed Peruvian that's more fruit-forward than you'd expect from Cajamarca, with a medium body that keeps it grounded.
La Naranja is a one-hectare family plot in the highlands of Jaén, farmed by Elvis Tineo. The farm is named for the orange trees interplanted across the land, gifted to him by his father in 2016 from the family's three hectares. Elvis grows Sidra and Caturra at around 1,650 to 1,850 metres, with a cool, humid microclimate shaped by nearby forest and frequent rainfall. He manages the farm with a small team of four, using organic matter and mineral fertilisers alongside coffee by-products to build soil health. Like many producers in Cajamarca, he's working against climate-related drought and coffee leaf rust, but he's committed to continuing what his grandparents started and producing coffee that reaches well beyond Peru.
A good all-rounder. The bergamot and currant notes hold up across brew methods, and the blackberry comes through strongest as espresso or in milk.
